A large part of my work concerns professional practice disputes (including advising on issues, problems or questions which, if not resolved, might result in a dispute), acting either for the practice or for individual partners, members or director/shareholders. Professional practices and their proprietors experience unique situations and challenges. These often require responses which are different from those employed in other business sectors, and which need to be tailored to the particular circumstances of the practice.
As a former salaried and later equity partner/member in several firms of solicitors, and having served as managing partner of one firm of solicitors, I am well placed to understand the business and inter-personal issues as well as the legal issues arising in the course of professional life.
